More Treasure Books for Artists

Artists who’d like large quantities of the The Helfa Gelf Treasure Book to distribute themselves, please contact Dominic or Iwan. Other open studios have found that distribution direct by the artists is one of the best ways of promoting the event, so don’t be shy now.

  1. David Makin:

We’ve distributed Treasure Books to Hotels/Guest Houses in Colwyn Bay/Rhos/Old Colwyn - specifically we left 6 brochures
and a pile of the postcards at:

Stavely House, Northwood, Sunnybank, Plas Rhos, Whitehall, West Point, St. Margarets, Hopeside, Holly Tree, Ashmount, Sunnydowns, Grosvenor, Eidelweiss, Lindale, Country House Hotel, Bryn Holcombe, The Bell

We also tried the Christian Guest House (but that’s Esther Wintringham’s :-) and the Mount Stewart but they were only wanted three copies for the staff.

Also tried Cabin Hill but that doesn’t
seem to be an active guest house anymore.
Missed Alwyn House as there was no-one in
and we didn’t go to the White Lion at Llanelion but will do those tomorrow.

Also I thought that there’s a couple of other places where we could leave copies of the brochure - in fact I think they’re pretty much ideal - in doctors and dentists waiting rooms, so I’m going to see if that’s OK at my surgery and dentist - Rhoslan surgery and the dentist opposite the shopping centre in Colwyn Bay.”

Also am going to do the restaurants/take-aways that have waiting areas with somewhere to leave a brochure eg. indians (the chinese don’t seem to have anywhere to leave brochures, nor does Vergilio’s).
Plus am going to go first class and try Bodysgallen, hopefully leaving one brochure for every guest room and a few in the guest lounge area.
Next Saturday or Sunday I’m going to ring around all the Hotels/Guest Houses I’ve delivered brochures to, to suggest that since the event is imminent that they may wish to have a copy of the brochure in each of their guest rooms and to check that they have enough left to do this at least for rooms that will be occupied from the 17th to the 21st - obviously a copy in an occupied room in that period would be the optimum situation.

  3. Helfa Gelf:

Great going, David. Is anyone else able to do hotels in Llandudno, Conwy or Betws (we’ve already sorted the Royal Oak)? Let us know and we’ll sort out the books for you.
